Have you been putting off your cleaning visits? Is there restorative work that you need to have done? If you answered yes to either of these questions chances are you may be wasting money.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When you pay for dental benefits you want to make sure you are getting the most out of them.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>No insurance company or benefit plan are the same. Everyone has a different monthly premium and there are wide varieties of benefit maximums and coverage. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Benefit maximums range from about $1000-$2500 per year.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Some years are fiscal but the majority are calendar years, which means come January 1st your benefits reset.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Whatever benefits you have left from the previous year are lost!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Even if you are not \u201cin network\u201d with your dental provider, most preventative work ( ie., cleanings, exams, x-rays ) is covered at 100% of the approved amount and major work ( ie. crowns, onlays, bridges ) is covered at around 50% of the approved amount.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When it comes to basic and major work, there will be money out of pocket needed BUT it will be less then waiting until the new year to tackle a larger treatment plan from your provider. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">My advice is, make sure you see your dental provider every 3-6 months ( periodontal patients are recommended to be seen every 3-4 months ). <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A lot can happen in 6 months and it gives your hygienist<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>and dentist the ability to detect any issues in the foreseeable future.
